Monsters no longer chase you forever. If one can't catch you and nobody is hurting it, it gives up, sooner the further you lead it from home. Run straight out of a lair and it quits after about 20 seconds. It never gives up close to home.
When it gives up, it walks back home and ignores you and your pets on the way, unless you come within a few steps or attack it. It will still fight anyone new it runs into.
Any attack on it, even a miss, or damage from anyone resets its patience. While it can reach you it's fighting, not chasing, and won't give up.
Brigands and roaming bands are unchanged.
East cemetery
The east cemetery is now a place for new characters. The ghoul and mummy packs are gone, replaced by skeletons: weak, slower than you when you run, and carrying a few coins. Four walk the lower lawn, three the family terrace, and two the old precinct's south corner.
For a harder fight, a ghoul waits in each family garden and a mummy in the old precinct's north corner.
Nothing that hunts can reach the Quiet Steps shrine anymore, so coming back up from the dungeon as a ghost is safe.
The bare-boned skeleton knights elsewhere are now called skeleton warriors, and they're as tough as before. A plain "skeleton" is always the weak cemetery kind, and the leaderboard counts the two separately.
Signs and bells
Clicking a waystone, sign or bell to read it no longer snaps shut right away when Item names is set to Always or As they come into view (Video > Interface), or while you hold the item names key. The text stays up long enough to read, then the name comes back.
